Burberry Prorsum PF09

All courtesy of Style.com

So let me just say...Burberry's pre-fall collection is SOOO my favorite so far. Christopher Bailey is a man after my own heart and hard earned dollars. His pre-fall lady is luxe, profoundly thin (I mean who else can play up volume yet have the girls look so thin?), and a bit on the dark side.
The black, navy, and most beautiful cobalt color palette has it's soft moments with the occasional sweep of violet, aqua, and silver. I love the blue color of the dress/coat above...STUNNING. Also the tie-dye print dress...um I need it now. However, my favorite piece in the whole collection is the cropped volume taupe pea-trench, quilted no less!
Accessories were more understated than Bailey's previosu seasons, however I love the chunky peeptoe platform worn with most looks. The navy metallic tights were a nice touch as well.
Bravo Bailey, bravo!

Karl, always the showman, didn't let us down as he took us on a magical journey to Russia with his pre-fall collection. Huge golden and black headresses, bear fur tall hats, are sure to make all the heads turn.

I'll be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the wearability of this particular collection, I don't think metallic "Russian men leg dancing" jodpuhrs are for me. However, some of my favorite moments, were the grey cashmere cardi and scarf combo complete with logo and stripe...adorb. Another, the tall over-the-knee black leather boots...LOVE...must have! I also thought the little accents like the Russian doll embellished fan and the mini quilted purselets. My favorite looks are above.
All-in-all, lovely.

Both courtesty of Fashion Week Daily

Hello lovers! I apologize for my long departure, however sometimes a girl needs some time to herself and her Hermes you know what I mean?
Anyway pre-fall collections are starting to roll in and who couldn't be more excited, but me? Who shall we start with, but one of my dear faves ZP? For pre-fall Zac has gone old school glam. Much like his earlier repertoi, Zac's fall lady is polished, elegant, and drop dead sexy. Posen said this collection is "all about attitude" and boy is it. Expert draping, nip pleats, and structured ruffles are accented by daring red satin and the softest mauve chiffon. It kind of says bedroom, in a I'm going to rock your world without ruining my pin curls sort of way.
Can someone ask Marilyn which red lipstick she prefers? I'm going to need it.

Manolo loves his milkshakes

Master cobbler and styleman, Manolo Blahnik, sits down with fashionista China Chow over milkshakes to discuss whatelse: his fabulousness! This adorable little video is from style.com and just a little pick-me up from me to you. Don't you just adore his bowtie?

Plie and pointe in spikes and studs

(Both courtesy of bonadrag.com)

To say I am obsessed with this idea is a total understatement: ballet shoes and spikes. The studded ones above got me thinking, how about long spikes? It's like The Nutcracker on like...crack. Imagine the Rodarte louboutins from fall, but on a much cheaper everyday level. The  ones pictured above are from a new website i found (and now ADORE) called Bona Drag. It's a small cyber shop with handpicked pieces by unknown and small designers. It's basically like a sweet little paradise. There is also a blog too, which is a great read. I've added it under my favorite blogs on the right sidebar. I also found this adorable "pair of eyelashes" necklace that is literally too cute for words, $38. I had to buy it for Rachal for her month-now-belated birthday.

The shoes are only $48, however I decided I wanted to make my own because I thought they would look way better with spikes and maybe in camel. I found spikes for $3 on Ebay and ballet shoes for $15. What a deal!

Gifts

Hello my precious!

Today is my birthday and therefore I thought since I have to get older the least you could do is get me one amazing gift! If you caught the hint from my post a few days ago, and ran to Bergdorf and put the YSL bag directly on your AmEx, then I guess you have me handled. Otherwise, I am in need for Goyard trunks, vintage cocktail rings, and an amazing pair of black riding boots! Kidding darling! Pictured above is my ultimate gift...a '54 Jaguar roadster, a la Cruel Intentions. A lady's got to ride in style, my love!

Lanvin SP09

(Courtesy of style.com)
Albert Elbaz turned the volume up at Maison de Lanvin literally. Playing with shape and abounding fabric, he managed to take one of last season's trend's in a very new direction. This season's take on what we thought he had already mastered (i.e. Fall08's editorial fave green grecian finale gown), Elbaz made volume for everyday. In light chiffons and silks, draped like dollops of meringue perched just perfectly, Elbaz made shapely look divine. I also loved what Albert's take on another favorite trend from last season, sequins. His finale look above, shows the new direction the trend has taken. The look was like the perfect finishing sprinkle to Elbaz's sweet dream of a show.
