Manolo loves his milkshakes

Master cobbler and styleman, Manolo Blahnik, sits down with fashionista China Chow over milkshakes to discuss whatelse: his fabulousness! This adorable little video is from style.com and just a little pick-me up from me to you. Don't you just adore his bowtie?

Plie and pointe in spikes and studs

(Both courtesy of bonadrag.com)

To say I am obsessed with this idea is a total understatement: ballet shoes and spikes. The studded ones above got me thinking, how about long spikes? It's like The Nutcracker on like...crack. Imagine the Rodarte louboutins from fall, but on a much cheaper everyday level. The  ones pictured above are from a new website i found (and now ADORE) called Bona Drag. It's a small cyber shop with handpicked pieces by unknown and small designers. It's basically like a sweet little paradise. There is also a blog too, which is a great read. I've added it under my favorite blogs on the right sidebar. I also found this adorable "pair of eyelashes" necklace that is literally too cute for words, $38. I had to buy it for Rachal for her month-now-belated birthday.

The shoes are only $48, however I decided I wanted to make my own because I thought they would look way better with spikes and maybe in camel. I found spikes for $3 on Ebay and ballet shoes for $15. What a deal!

Gifts

Hello my precious!

Today is my birthday and therefore I thought since I have to get older the least you could do is get me one amazing gift! If you caught the hint from my post a few days ago, and ran to Bergdorf and put the YSL bag directly on your AmEx, then I guess you have me handled. Otherwise, I am in need for Goyard trunks, vintage cocktail rings, and an amazing pair of black riding boots! Kidding darling! Pictured above is my ultimate gift...a '54 Jaguar roadster, a la Cruel Intentions. A lady's got to ride in style, my love!

Lanvin SP09

(Courtesy of style.com)
Albert Elbaz turned the volume up at Maison de Lanvin literally. Playing with shape and abounding fabric, he managed to take one of last season's trend's in a very new direction. This season's take on what we thought he had already mastered (i.e. Fall08's editorial fave green grecian finale gown), Elbaz made volume for everyday. In light chiffons and silks, draped like dollops of meringue perched just perfectly, Elbaz made shapely look divine. I also loved what Albert's take on another favorite trend from last season, sequins. His finale look above, shows the new direction the trend has taken. The look was like the perfect finishing sprinkle to Elbaz's sweet dream of a show.

Dries Van Noten SP09

( Photos all courtesy of style.com)
Very few collections this season screamed..."WEAR ME!!!" Let alone wear the pieces everyday. The most wearable collection, where quite possibly every piece could be in my dream wardrobe, was Dries Van Noten. Using mostly a palette of black and white, Van Noten was able to play with shape and silhouette. Van Noten also used embellishments like sequin, shell, and tribal accents in a way that was lapped in luxury, but never looked overdone. It made me want to hit the yacht, the stores in St. Tropez, and end my day of splendor dripping in sequins drinking champagne.

Bon Voyage!

Yves St. Laurent Muse Two Bag, $1895
Can we please talk about the sheer perfection that is this bag? The combination of the buttery blue croc embossed leather, to it's simple shape, to the glittery gold hardware. I mean talk about timeless. The PERFECT birthday gift, if anyone happens to be turning another year in a week. I hate getting older, but with this bag on my arm, surely I could learn to age gracefully.

It's Been Awhile

(Courtesy of Style.com).

I have been having SERIOUS internet issues, so my deepest apologies for staying away so long. SO if you haven't heard by now, Spring 2009 collections, were well... collectively boring. There were some highlights, all which I will elaborate more on in future posts. However to start us off, will you please check out these lovelies? Sure to be clad on every fashion It girl and editor come springtime, these metal and leather lattice boots from YSL could be the shoes of the season. Stefano Pilati has got a hit on his hands with these beauties that marry last season's favorite gladiator with a boot. Genius.
